Planet Emotion....

Ohhhh, here come the hormones again. I just saw a news story about a dolphin who, as the result of an illness, had to have her tail fin amputated to save her life. She could no longer swim properly and started gaining weight and her cholesterol shot through the roof (heh...I can SO relate) and rather than let her just go to pot, they ...sob... built her a new fin and, after some getting-used-to, the dolphin is now happy as a clam (snort...sea humor) and jumping and swimming like crazy. This story touched me so much and I shed a few tears of joy. And cursed my friggin hormones once again.

Also, I'm going to contact those scientists and see what sort of artificial fin they can create for MY ass so I can lose weight and swim like a baby dolphin again, TOO.

Speaking of nature...have any of you seen the new Planet Earth series on the Science channel?? Friggin' WOW. The cinematography alone is mind-blowing. These people spent six years (SIX YEARS) filming these shows about nature. In every one of the episodes, they show time-lapse photography for migration patterns or growth or glacier melting, etc., and it's just ...hypnotic. I can't believe the beauty. Not just in the way it was filmed, but in nature itself. I know, roll your eyes. George probably does too since he has to really hear it. I just get very spiritual when I watch nature shows because there is such a stunning beauty in life, in the circular perfection of how the entire planet is set up so perfectly with just about everything needed by every living organism and I just am stunned to the core each time I see these things (which is why I tend to limit how often I view them...cause I even annoy MYSELF when I get like that) but these new Planet Earth series are just phenomenal.

Ohhhh, I have to leave you now. We finally had enough of our old bed and its George- and Gracie-shaped divots. So we broke down last week and bought...yep, a Sleep Number bed. 7000 series. Sneaky bitch at the mall sucked us RIGHT in and before we knew it, we'd left the store--sleepy as hell--with several hundred dollars in pillows and several THOUSAND in bed. It was delivered this morning and since I woke up with a nasty cold? I can't WAIT to go to bed.

I know this is a short entry, but I had a few minutes while a work job is compiling (shhhh, let's pretend it's NOT 10pm and Gracie's still workin'), so I thought I'd come on n' say hi real quick. So...HI!

Come back in the next few days when we discuss all the new stories I have for you since The Kiddo got his license proper. I had NO idea chest pains could hurt this much. Ohhhh, how I long for the days when his head looked like a cupcake.

Tonight's only Idol comments:

Gracie: "See?? TELL me Jordin shouldn't win. Listen to her, far and away above everyone else, full of personality and positive and sweet and just a MAGNET. She SO needs to win this."

George: ....Oh...kay....?

Gracie: "...."

George: "...."

Gracie: *Crickets chirping*

George: "I think they ALL suck so bad? That *I* should win. Me."
